Knowledge Base and Information

Here you will find a list of common questions I get asked a lot, as well as other general knowledge I highly suggest familiarizing yourself with.

Q: Is and "E Tune" the same as a "Pro Tune"?:

A: Yes, as long as you are being tuned by a Cobb Protuner. Same goes for ECUtek.

Q: Do you offer continued support after the tune is completed?

A: Yes, if you ever have any questions or concerns, just reach out and I will do my best to help. For future "Re-Tunes", there will be an additional fee no matter the modification change.

Q: Are your E Tunes safe?

A: Absolutely. As long as the vehicle is in proper mechanical order, and the vehicle is not being driven beyond what it is capable of, the car should perform at its best ability with the proper parts and calibration.

Guide to Datalogging (Subaru):

-Datalogging is a necessary tool where the customer drives the vehicle under certain guided conditions, and performs a log with their choice of logging device. In most cases, this will be the Cobb Accessport. The first thing I tell customers is to download Accessport Manager from Cobb's website, plug your Accessport in, and delete all existing datalog's. That way we don't get any new ones confused with accidental old logs. If you have some that you have taken and would like to share before the process begins, feel free to do so, as this can show any potential issues the car may have prior to starting the tuning process.

Once this is complete, initial email correspondence will begin, and I will send you either a list of logging parameters to select, or a file containing them. I will also send you detailed instructions on what logs to take under what driving conditions. We generally start with cold start idle, warm idle and light cruise.

From this point, were already on our way to completing the E Tuning process!

Selecting the right tune for you:

-I selected the "Stage" method to help simplify which tune is best for you, depending on modifications. In recent years, this has changed quite a bit from what it used to be based on changes in what modifications are "allowed". I tend to stick to traditional "Stages" with Subaru's. If you look below the selection tabs under the tune you are looking to purchase, there will be a brief guide of what modifications are considered for each. If you have any questions at all, please send me an email through the contact form and I will gladly assist you.
